Why Spoof a MAC Address?
Media Access Control (MAC) addresses are hardware identifiers burned into network interface cards. Because they are broadcast in plaintext over Wi-Fi, they are routinely used by retailers and ISPs to track your physical location and device usage.
Locally Administered Addresses
To avoid conflicts with real hardware vendors, this tool generates Locally Administered addresses by default (setting the second-least-significant bit of the first octet to 1).
Common Mistakes
- Static Spoofing: Changing your MAC to a single fake address and leaving it there still allows tracking over time. It must be rotated.
